The holidays have come and gone, this was a very devastating time for our family, even as we remembered the true meaning of Christmas.
In years past, we, as most other families do, celebrated Christmas by buying presents, being with our families and enjoying our grandchildren’s happiness and they opened their gifts.
This Christmas of ’95 was different. Twice I tried to do my shopping, only to be overcome by such a sadness, I went home crying without buying anything. We finally had our get-together as usual, but all we could think of was the one that wasn’t with us – Deidre.
There were so many tragedies in ’95. I ask, why the children? We need to put Deidre’s spirit to rest, to have this case finalized so we can go on.
Each morning when I awaken, the first thing on my mind is how could this happen? Is it real? Yes, it really happened. How can someone know about his and not come forward?
We know there is someone out there that knows what happened, possibly was in the car, but not driving. We are asking please, do the right thing, make a phone call and give any information you can.
If you don’t have children now, you probably will someday. Do you think you will be able to celebrate your little girl’s birthday, watch her open gifts at Christmas, see her in school plays and observe all of her pleasures and accomplishments without thinking of another little girl, Deidre – whose life was cut so short, who will never fulfill her dreams?
I believe you would feel relieved if you cleared your conscience now and didn’t have to live with twinges of guilt and remembrance of the accident for the rest of your life.
Help us have justice for Deidre and some sense of peace for our family, so we can go on.
