Week Family Says Thanks for Support

We would like to thank everyone at West Junior High School for the tremendous effort put into raising money for the reward fund to help find the person(s) who took our Deidre’s young life.
A very special thank you to Miss Knutson and her entire fifth-hour ninth-grade health class for organizing the “Dollars for Deidre” head-shaving campaign. We felt honored that you chose donating to the reward fund as your “good cause” this year.
Thank you so much to the following students and staff members who so courageously sacrificed all their hair in front of everyone on the last day of school:
Susan Baxler, Nick Skytland, Jon Cutler, Derrick Look, Craig Leverance, Fred Monville, Matt Klowkowski, Jason Week, Brandon Week, Miss Knutson, Mr. Pribbenow, Mr. Elkin, and Mr. Zimmerman. Hopefully everybody’s hair is growing back OK. Someone suggested we should send all of you some Miracle Grow – just in case.
A big thank you to Judie Slowinski for doing all the shaving, and to Ryan Grube for being the MC and making it fun for everyone; to Andy Miller for videotaping; to Nick for the artwork, and Matt for giving up so much study hall time to collect donations. Also thank you to the Food Tree on Highway 34 for the hats printed with “I lost my hair to a good cause.”
We want all of you to know how much your great support has meant to us. You have all given from your hearts in so many ways. To see this group of kids so intently pursue an idea and make it a success at such a young age is truly an inspiration to everyone in this and other communities. Thank you to all of you for your thoughtfulness and for helping bring justice to Deidre.
